SAN ANTONIO – As the school year winds down, many local schools are facing massive budget deficits that are resulting in school closures and staff cuts.
The state’s school voucher program is sending some public students, and their tax money, to private or charter schools.
Although keep in mind, many of those students were already going to private school. They simply lived in the district.
But there are questions about the future of public education.
Join us tonight for a special “Crisis in the Classroom” town hall discussion.
Local education leaders, advocates, and parents will be in studio talking to News 4’s Mariza Mendoza about the challenges facing our schools and some possible solutions to make sure our kids are set up for success.
Don’t miss it, tonight at 6:30 here on News 4 and online at news4sa.com and our sister station foxsanantonio.com.
Confirmed guests:
- Ed Garza, SAISD board of trustees
- Inga Cotton, School Discovery Network
