If you’re planning your summer around live music, Philadelphia’s 2026 festival season offers a full calendar of can’t-miss events. Across the city and surrounding region, festivals will showcase everything from hip-hop and R&B to electronic, folk, and country—featuring both global headliners and local favorites.
Roots Picnic
The 2026 Roots Picnic is returning to the area this summer (May 30–31) with a standout weekend celebrating hip-hop, R&B, and Black culture. Curated by The Roots and presented with Live Nation Urban, the two-day festival will take place at Belmont Plateau for the first time. What are some highlights? Saturday’s lineup is headlined by Jay-Z, who will perform alongside The Roots for the first time in over a decade, while Sunday features fan-favorite Erykah Badu as the closing act. The festival will also feature Kehlani, Brandy, T.I., De La Soul, Mariah the Scientist, Philadelphia’s own DJ Jazzy Jeff and a special all-star tribute celebrating 50 years of Go-Go music. Musikfest
ArtsQuest has released an early preview of the Musikfest 2026 lineup, highlighting what will once again be the nation’s largest free music festival. (Note: only headlining shows will require tickets.) Taking place July 31 through Aug. 9 (with a preview night on July 30) in Bethlehem, the festival will feature more than 300 acts across 15 free stages, spanning genres from rock and pop to jazz, reggae, indie and polka.
On the schedule, concert-goers will find bands like Sixpence None the Richer and Ryan Cabrera plus regional favorites like The Clarks and genre-blending artists like John Hollier, folk-rock trio Palmyra and alt-pop group The Foxies. The lineup also includes the returning Warped Band tribute act, celebrating the legacy of the Warped Tour. In addition to the free stages, the ticketed Wind Creek Steel Stage will host names like Third Eye Blind, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, T.I., AJR and others, with more announcements still to come. Elements Music and Arts Festival
Now in its ninth year, Elements will be returning to Long Pond from Aug. 7 to 9. The festival is continuing its mission of blending electronic music with immersive art, camping, and community-driven experiences in its forest setting. Attendees can expect acts like Boys Noize, Charlotte de Witte, Chris Lorenzo, Big Gigantic, Porter Robinson, Subtronics, Above & Beyond, Excision, among many others.
Beyond music, Elements additionally offers large-scale art installations, roaming performances, “Vibe Villages,” and wellness programming like yoga and workshops. Sustainability will also remain a key focus, with support from solar-powered infrastructure and community participation. Tickets (prices vary) are currently on sale for the three-day festival with an option for an early Thursday arrival experience and camping/glamping/RV passes.

Philadelphia Folk Festival
The 63rd Philadelphia Folk Festival is set to return Aug. 14 to 16 to Old Pool Farm, continuing its long-standing tradition of blending folk heritage with fresh, diverse talent across seven stages. This year’s main stage lineup includes Leftover Salmon, Tom Rush, Mary Gauthier, Eddie 9V, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, Big Richard, RUNA, Damn Tall Buildings, and Kieran Kane & Rayna Gellert. Philadelphia’s own John Flynn will also perform and serve as main-stage MC, with additional national and local acts to be announced.
Presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society, the three-day, family-friendly festival offers more than music, with camping, food vendors, crafts, and activities for all ages, including workshops and the kid-focused Dulcimer Grove. Plus, there will be a special Thursday night concert for campers on Aug. 13 to kick things off (lineup to be announced). Artsquest Country Fest
CountryFest will make its debut this summer on Aug. 21 and 22 at the SteelStacks campus. The inaugural free festival will feature a mix of nationally touring acts, rising stars, and local talent, headlined by Clayton Mullen, Luke Borchelt, and Peytan Porter. Fans can also expect tribute performances like Kevin Kenny’s homage to Kenny Chesney and “Lainey Nation,” celebrating Lainey Wilson.
Beyond the music, attendees can dig into barbecue from Red Cedar Grill, enjoy treats from Bacon on a Stick and Batch Micro-Creamery, and take part in activities like axe throwing. Breakaway Music Festival
Breakaway Music Festival is heading back to Philadelphia for its second year on Sept. 11 and 12 at Subaru Park. Headlined by global EDM stars Tiësto, Marshmello, ISOxo, and Sofi Tukker, the two-day festival will feature a packed lineup including ARMNHMR, CID, Deathpact, KREAM, Layton Giordani, Malaa (Alter Ego), and Whethan, alongside other touring artists. Tickets (various prices), including GA, VIP, Ultimate VIP, and premium Space Deck options, are on sale now, with presale access available for early registrants.
