While the budget dance continues, Gov. Kathy Hochul has remained focused on slowing down the state’s ambitious climate law.
During a press conference Thursday morning, the governor said she is looking to “strike the right balance between clean energy ambitions and affordability pressures”.
Katherine Nadeau, deputy executive director for policy and programs for Environmental Advocates NY told Capital Tonight’s Susan Arbetter that the changes prompted her organization to add a new “Oil Spill” category to its annual Legislative Scorecard, a designation that will indicate whether lawmakers publicly defended the climate law or not.
