Dallas Wings set 2026 roster as season opener approaches on May 9, against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, which airs on WFAA.

DALLAS — The Dallas Wings have finalized their 2026 opening day roster, setting the stage for a highly anticipated season that begins Saturday, May 9, on the road against the Indiana Fever. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. CT, with national coverage on ABC and local coverage on WFAA.

The roster features a mix of veteran leadership and rising star power, headlined by franchise cornerstone Arike Ogunbowale and former No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers. Dallas also welcomes the 2026 top overall pick Azzi Fudd, reuniting her with Bueckers after their standout run at UConn.

Veteran guards Odyssey Sims and Alysha Clark bring championship experience, while key frontcourt additions Alanna Smith and Jessica Shepard bolster a lineup that looks significantly deeper heading into the new season. International talent also highlights the roster, including Li Yueru and Awak Kuier.

If the preseason is any indication, the Wings may be poised for a breakout year.

Dallas delivered a statement win over the defending champion Las Vegas Aces, rolling to a 101–84 victory in an exhibition in Austin, the first WNBA game ever played in the city. The performance offered an early glimpse of the team’s offensive firepower and chemistry.

The regular season opens with a marquee matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, followed by the home opener on May 12 against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream at College Park Center in Arlington. That game will mark KFAA’s first exclusive broadcast of the season.

Fan interest continues to surge, with the Wings selling out season ticket memberships for the third straight year. The team is also slated to play three games at American Airlines Center after setting attendance records at the venue last season.

Meanwhile, a potential full-time move to AAC remains under discussion. The Wings confirmed to WFAA they are in advanced talks with the arena, though no deal has been finalized.

All of it sets up what could be a defining season in Dallas, as a retooled roster, a new head coach in Jose Fernandez, and growing fan support converge at the right time. You can view the Wings’ full schedule here.
