Unlike the first two games of Round 2, fans need an advance ticket to catch Games 3 and 4 at The Rock.

SAN ANTONIO — The outdoor space at The Rock at La Cantera has become a popular spot for Spurs fans to congregate with their lawn chairs, flags and Wembanyama big heads during the team’s 2026 playoff run.

As the team’s Western Conference Semifinals matchup with Minnesota heads north for two games, the northwest-side venue is preparing for more big crowds to cheer the team on from afar Friday and Sunday nights.

If you’ve made a point of heading to The Rock for the playoffs, however, you’ll need one other thing to make it in Friday: a free, general admission ticket.

The Spurs said they were making 5,000 such tickets available online for each away game watch party in this round, and possible future ones if the team advances. The fan demand was evident: The gatherings for both Game 3 and Game 4 are already listed as “sold out.”

That means that if you arrive without having gotten an advance ticket, you’re likely to be turned away.

The team has expanded screening capabilities at The Rock, closing off the adjacent parking lot and setting up smaller screens for those unable to find a good spot by the 40-foot screen just steps away from the Spurs’ training facility. The “official watch parties” for the two road games will also feature merchandise giveaways, and fans are being encouraged to wear their “Texas pride” on Sunday.

Fans with tickets to the watch parties can take advantage of free parking and are welcome to bring portable chairs and blankets. Bags, backpacks, wagons and coolers may be searched upon entry, and you’re not allowed to bring in outdoor food and drinks. You should also leave your pets at home, although service animals are allowed.

It should also be noted that the team says “a ticket does not guarantee entry.”

Tipoff is at 8:30 p.m. CT on Amazon Prime Video.
