Police are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect in a Thursday night fatal hit-and-run in Phoenix.
Valyn Benally, 36, was located with critical injuries and pronounced dead around 10 p.m. near Seventh and Elwood streets, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The vehicle was not at the scene upon the police’s arrival. Detectives said it was heading north and struck Benally who was crossing Seventh Street.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Phoenix PD at 602-262-6151. The public can also provide information anonymously through Silent Witness at 480-948-6377 or 480-837-8446 for Spanish speakers.
