Molly, a local resident who lives near where the shooting unfolded, says she was at home at the time and heard the gunshots.
“I just heard three gunshots. Everyone else said they heard five gunshots. But it sounded very loud and very different from what I’m used to hearing. Anyway, I did look out the window, and I heard and saw nothing,” Molly told amNewYork. “There were no sirens, no screaming, no chaos, nothing.”
Another nearby resident, who did not provide her name, she said she was walking nearby when the gunfire erupted.
“I don’t know how many gunshots; I just ran inside. I was scared,” the woman said. “I saw the ambulance from my rooftop.”
Police descended on the scene, blocking off several blocks with crime scene tape. Several shell casings could be seen on the ground as officers investigated.
