As a truck driver slept in his tractor-trailer, parked along Roosevelt Boulevard on Sunday, a pair of thieves stole boxes of meat from the vehicle.

According to police, the incident happened at about 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, when the driver of a truck parked along the 9700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia, was awoken by the vehicle shaking as the truck was being looted.

Police said, the driver spotted two people unloading boxes of meat from the truck and loading it into two nearby vehicles.

Before police arrived, the thieves fled in their vehicles, officials said.

Officials said 40 boxes were initially stolen, but police recovered eight boxes of meat on the same block.

Investigators described the suspects in this case as two men behind the wheel of Nissan vehicles. No arrests have yet been made, officials said.

An investigation is ongoing.
