SAN ANTONIO — Local student filmmakers debuted their work at the 10th annual 90-Second Newbery Film Festival at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

The free event was hosted by BiblioTech and H-E-B Read. The event features K-12 students transforming Newbery-winning books into 90-second films. Out of 165 submissions, the top 10 films from middle and high school creators will be screened for a live audience.

Winning entries receive a monetary prize that will be awarded to a school library, literacy initiative, or non-profit of their choice.
