THANKS TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
CASPER, Wyo. — On Saturday, May 2, the Child Development Center hosted the 26th Annual Kids’ Art A La Carte fundraising at the Ford Wyoming Center. This year’s theme was the circus, and people from all walks of life gathered under the big top to raise funds and awareness for one of Natrona County’s most important organizations.
The Child Development Center, according to its website, exists to provide premiere, family-focused, developmentally appropriate services for anyone up to the age of 21. The CDC provides a variety of services, from early intervention to development screenings, quick care, pre-school services and more. It’s a place where children can reach their fullest potential, and it would not be able to offer the services that it does without support from the community.
That support came out in full on Saturday, as hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the CDC, the services that it offers and the work that it does on a daily basis.
They also came out to support a changing of the guard. For years, Alisha Rone has served as the executive director of the Child Development Center. After the pomp and circumstance, the sit-down dinner, the auction, the raffle, the games and the music, Rone took the stage to officially retire from the CDC, passing her hat off to the organization’s new executive director, Sarah Larson.
“Thank you for your countless support,” Rone told the audience. “When I needed you most, you showed up. And for that, I am forever thankful. And I’m proud to hand over the ringleader position to Sarah Larson.”
With that, Larson took the stage, the hat and the reigns to lead the CDC, with the full support of Rone and her family and friends.
“I’m stepping into the role of executive director, and it’s a moment I approach with both humility and excitement, knowing I am supported by an exceptional team who brings this mission to life every single day,” Larson said.
The two shared a hug and the rest of the show continued (because the show must go on), raising thousands of dollars for the upcoming year. It was a night to remember, and it showed just how much teamwork really goes into the services of the CDC.
