A man died while hiking on Mt. Wilson Trail in Sierra Madre on Saturday morning, according to the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team.
The rescue team, law enforcement and fire personnel responded to the scene where a hiker was found unresponsive just before 10 a.m.
Friends and other hikers on the trail started CPR before first responders took over, but the man, who was around 50 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the organization said.
One week ago, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said a man died after falling a “significant distance” into a ravine from the Mt. Wilson Trail.
The Sierra Madre Police Department is handling the investigation into Saturday’s incident.
