Durham police are investigating after one person died in Oshawa on Saturday night.
Police say they were called to the area of Simcoe Street North and Winchester Road East shortly before 9 p.m. for reports of an armed person.
When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from “traumatic injuries,” police say.
The victim was later pronounced dead. The cause of death is not immediately known.
Police say the homicide unit is investigating. No suspect information has been released.
“This is an isolated incident and at this time there is no threat to public safety,” a Durham police spokesperson said in an email to CP24.
