A 5-day-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert on May 9 in Phoenix was found in Mohave County after police said his parents took him from a medical clinic before he was medically cleared.

The alert, sent to Arizonans about 6:20 p.m., identified the child as Ollie Olson, a White male newborn who is 18 inches long and weighs 5 pounds.

Phoenix police said officers responded about 11:15 a.m. May 9 to a medical clinic near 30th Street and McDowell Road after Ollie Olson, a newborn under critical care, was taken by his parents, Tyler Olson and Asia Olson, without medical clearance.

He was last seen in a blue swaddling blanket, but the original alert did not say where exactly he was last seen in Phoenix.

The parents left with Ollie in a dark-colored Jeep, according to Sgt. Robert Scherer, a Phoenix Police Department spokesperson. After detectives collected information, Phoenix police requested an Amber Alert, which was issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

About an hour after the alert was issued, Ollie was found in Mohave County with Tyler and Asia Olson, Scherer said.

Both parents were detained, and Ollie was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Phoenix police detectives were working with law enforcement in Mohave County on the ongoing criminal investigation.

Additional details were not immediately available, police said.
