PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Happy Mother’s Day! If you want to sit outside for a Mother’s Day brunch, get out early.
Overnight lows in the 70s this morning, with highs today around 106! That is 14 degrees above our average at this time of year.
The heat will continue through Tuesday, and that is why we have issued a First Alert Days through Tuesday.
The hottest day will be on Monday, with some areas getting close to 110 degrees. The National Weather Service has also issued an Extreme Heat Warning through Tuesday.
The ridge of high pressure that is bringing the heat will slowly weaken later this week, and a low will pass to the north of us. This low will cool us down a bit, but temperatures will stay above average.
The only time to get outside will be in the morning hours to enjoy those temps in the 70s.
