SAN ANTONIO —A motorcyclist was critically injured after a crash near a West Side shopping center on Sunday morning.

First responders were called around 10:35 a.m. to South General McMullen and Castroville Road near Las Palmas Shopping Center.

Police said an elderly driver in a black pickup truck was turning into the H-E-B parking lot when he hit a motorcyclist who was traveling through the intersection.

Witnesses told police the truck driver turned on a yellow signal at the light and the motorcyclist had the right of way.

The motorcyclist, a man between 30-35 years old, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
