Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across North Texas Sunday afternoon as a cold front moves through North Texas.
The primary hazards will be hail, damaging winds and heavy rain that may result in isolated flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth.
Severe risk of scattered showers and storms will be greatest this afternoon and evening. Large hail, greater than two inches will be the main threat, according to NWS.
Damaging wind gusts in excess of 70-75 mph will be possible through the evening as storms will merge into a large cluster, NWS said.
Isolated locations in North Texas could receive 2-to-4 inches, which could trigger flash flooding those locations, according to NWS.
There’s a 70% chance of rain Sunday evening through 1 a.m. Monday, the NWS said.
