The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people Saturday in connection with what deputies describe as a kidnapping from a home in Perinton. Omar Saleh and Gamil Ahmed, both of Rochester, and Dajour Paul of Brooklyn are each charged with kidnapping. Deputies say they found all three victims safe.
News10NBC’s Declan Stablow spoke with Amar Saleh over the phone. Declan is still working to confirm some of what Saleh told him.
Amar Saleh sent Declan a video he says shows his younger brother running into his arms. Amar Saleh says his mother and siblings were brought to the Perinton house after Child Protective Services picked them up last month.
When Amar Saleh went to the county clerk’s office to try to find information, he says the clerk’s office couldn’t find a petition for their removal.
Amar Saleh says the video was shot at a home on Crossover Road in Perinton. Neighbors say they saw about a dozen sheriff’s office vehicles outside the home for hours on Saturday.
Declan reached out to the sheriff’s office, the county clerk and the New York Office of Children and Family Services to confirm what Saleh told him. The sheriff’s office says there is no new information they can share at this time. Stablow has not heard back yet from the county clerk or OCFS.
Deputies say the kidnapping happened around 3:20 p.m. Saturday. An Amber Alert went out just before 9 p.m. and was lifted shortly after 10 p.m.
Deputies say they recovered a car they believe was involved in the kidnapping.
