The provincial government has doubled the funding available through three homeowner support programs for low-income households.
Administered by the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, the programs help with modifications and repairs to homes.
The changes include doubling the forgivable loan available for repairs and modifications, eliminating the need for recommendations from an occupational therapist for minor changes and upgrades, and removing the requirement for pre and post inspections for all home repairs.
Income thresholds for eligibility for the programs have also increased.
