The Salvation Army is opening 10 heat relief stations in the Valley during the extreme heat warning.

PHOENIX — The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Valley. It is expected to last through Tuesday.

In response to the heat warning, the Salvation Army is opening 10 heat relief stations across the Valley. Officials said the stations will be open May 11 and 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will also be open on any weekday the National Weather Service has issued or extended an Extreme Heat Warning from May through September – excluding federal holidays.

“When the National Weather Service issues an Extreme Heat Warning, Salvation Army locations across the Valley act as heat relief stations and offer indoor cooling and hydration,” said Lt. Colonel Henry Graciani, Commander of The Salvation Army Southwest Division, based in Phoenix. “We alert the media to help inform the public and place extra signage to direct people to each location. Salvation Army officers, staff and volunteers will also take water to those in need around their neighborhoods.

Estrella Mountain Corps Community Center, 11 N. Third Ave.

Chandler Corps Community Center, 85 E. Saragosa St.

Glendale Corps Community Center, 6010 W. Northern Ave.

Mesa Corps Community Center, 241 E. Sixth St.

– Phoenix Citadel Corps Community Center, 628 N. Third Ave.

– Phoenix Maryvale Corps Community Center, 4318 W. Clarendon Ave.

– Ray & Joan Kroc Center Phoenix, 1375 E. Broadway Road

– Phoenix Family Services Office, 2707 E. Van Buren St., Bldg. 2

North West Valley Corps Community Center, 17420 N. Avenue of the Arts Blvd.

The Salvation Army provided heat relief to nearly 65,000 people in Arizona and distributed nearly 180,000 bottles of water to Arizonans in need in 2025.
