SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Hannah Harper has officially been named the next American Idol.
Harper, who lives in Willow Springs, Mo., was crowned the winner Monday night. Harper was one of the top three finalists, including Jordan McCullough and Keyla Richardson.
Harper recently returned home to Willow Springs as the city hosted a celebration for her making it to the show’s top three. The country singer has long been a favorite of some of the judges.
KY3 had the chance to chat with Harper during her thank-you tour on May 6. Harper said that she’s very grateful for the community throughout her journey on the show.
“I think that so many people think that getting to the top 3 is due to your amazing vocal ability, and it’s not. It’s connecting with people on a deeper level. Then those people follow you through to the end. Every single person who voted, loved on me, sent me messages, prayers; this is just to give back to them to say thank you. But it’s really rejuvenating me to push through in the competition and hopefully take it all the way,” explained Harper.
The City of Willow Springs officially declared May 6 Hannah Harper Day.
