Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is hosting a small business outreach event later this month aimed at helping companies learn how to compete for government contracts.

The event is scheduled for May 19 at Coastal Carolina Community College’s Melton Skills Center on Western Boulevard.

Officials said the free event will give attendees the opportunity to meet with contracting and procurement offices and learn about resources available to support small businesses in North Carolina.

Participants will receive information on how to become eligible for Department of Defense contracts, along with guidance on procurement processes and upcoming opportunities. Organizers also plan to share insights on using artificial intelligence in business operations.

“This event’s objective is to help participants understand the fundamentals of various procurement processes, and what it takes to be eligible and competitive for government contracts,” said Chris Rabassi, a small business professional with the Office of Small Business Programs at Marine Corps Installations East-Camp Lejeune.

Rabassi said the goal is for businesses to leave with a clearer understanding of how to work with the government and how to take advantage of available opportunities.

Registration is required and limited to the first 100 participants.
