Opening statements are underway in an armed robbery trial tied to the murder case of Mercedes Vega, whose death shocked the Valley. Prosecutors say Vega was targeted years before she was found dead in a burning car near Tonopah, while the defense argues investigators cannot prove Cudjoe Young was the gunman.
