LOS ANGELES – Junior Dean West of UCLA Baseball been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between May 5-11.
West was the undeniable star for the Bruins’ series-clinching win over No. 13-ranked Oregon, turning in a four-hit performance that included the go-ahead slam in the eighth. The UCLA left fielder also robbed a grand slam in the fourth, impacting the game on both sides of the ball. He finished with four RBIs and two runs scored in a standout afternoon.
The outfielder secures his second-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
