State police said that witnesses of the crash told authorities that Philogene was speeding in a black Toyota Highlander and weaving in and out of traffic before the crash.
Philogene allegedly tried to merge between two cars on the highway and struck a white Jaguar SUV on the rear passenger side. She then lost control of her Toyota and struck the right median, which caused the vehicle to roll multiple times, state police said.
State police said Philogene was ejected from the Toyota in the crash. Multiple witnesses on the highway attempted to help her, but she was unresponsive. State police said Philogene was pronounced dead by medics at 9:34 p.m.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
I-95 northbound reopened at around 1:15 a.m., state police said.
