There was yet another house fire in Delaware County in recent weeks, and more people displaced.
This time there was a house ablaze in the 500 block of Wiltshire Road in Upper Darby Township.
According to a news release from township Deputy Chief John Calamia, stations were alerted approximately 8 p.m. for a building fire in the block.
Companies arrived to find fire showing from the first and second floors of a two-story end-of-row dwelling.
The fire escalated to two alarms before being brought under control within 40 minutes. The blaze was contained to the original fire building with minor damage to the adjoining property.
No injuries were reported.
Mutual aid was received from Llanerch, Manoa, Darby, Clifton Heights and Lansdowne fire companies. Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue stood by at the scene as well.
Six adults and two children were displaced and the cause is still under investigation, Calamia said.
Radio traffic indicated wires were arcing and sparking and a PECO priority response was sought.
Board-up services were sought for 18 windows, three doors and a section of roofing.
Other fires in the past month included Sharon Hill, Collingdale, Trainer, Crum Lynne, Chester Township, Eddystone, Upper Darby and Collingdale again. Dozens of residents have been displaced.
There have been no apparent connections among any of these fires.
