MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – Students at Madison County High School showcased their virtual reality projects.
Students spent the entire school year working in the KTECH VR Academy.
The project showcased the students’ skills in computer science, programming, and team-building.
Leaders said the program helps students pursue a STEM career in a fun way.
“What they don’t realize they’re learning are computer skills and teamwork,” KTECH VR Academy President Lee Marshall said.
“For them to be able to work together strategically as a team, to set a goal and work toward it, and to achieve it successfully as a team and put that on display today, to me, those are life skills that they will take into our local workforce.”
As part of the curriculum, students earn a computer science credit that they can transfer to any two-year or four-year university.
