The longest drought in San Diego FC’s short history is over.

David Vasquez scored twice, with four different players contributing goals in a 5-0 blowout of Austin.

The win snaps a 10 match winless streak, that dates back to the club’s win over Toluca on March 11. Their most recent MLS victory was March 7 against Kansas City.

Vasquez and Anders Dreyer scored goals in the first 18 minutes. For the reigning MVP runner-up, his total is now six.

SDFC avoided another late letdown, tacking on three goals after halftime. Pedro Soma, a 19-year-old midfielder, struck from just outside of the box for his first MLS goal. Marcus Ingvartsen added his ninth of the season, before Vasquez provided an exclamation point in extra time.

San Diego started Wednesday in 13th place in the West, and now sits tied for ninth.

They have two more home matches before a two month World Cup break, beginning Saturday against Cincinnati.
