Pasadena Humane will launch a fee-waived adoption campaign Friday aimed at helping adult dogs find permanent homes.
The “May I Go Home With You?” campaign will run through May 24 and will waive adoption fees for all dogs 6 months and older at the Pasadena shelter.
According to Pasadena Humane, more than 40 adult dogs are currently available for adoption.
Officials said adult dogs often remain at shelters longer than puppies despite being well-suited for many households because they are typically beyond the early stages of puppy training.
“These dogs are eager for a second chance — one filled with neighborhood walks, couch cuddles, and the chance to become someone’s loyal best friend,” the organization said in a statement.
The promotion is intended to reduce financial barriers to adoption while increasing visibility for older dogs in need of homes, officials said.
All adoptions will include spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations and a microchip. Standard adoption procedures will still apply, and licensing fees may be required, officials said.
Adoptions will be available daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Pasadena Humane.
