Target is readying store improvements across Texas — and beyond — with the Dallas-Fort Worth getting some of the upgrades.
The national retailer has selected three sites in the region for the remodeling efforts, according to a statement by Target. The locations on tap for the 2026 improvements include stores in Lewisville on Hebron Parkway, Fort Worth on Tom Landry Freeway and in eastern Garland.
Target also is adding stores in North Texas, including opening a site earlier in the Oak Cliff area earlier this year. Others slated for the region include Little Elm, Forney and Fort Worth, the company said on its website.
The D-FW area is attracting more stores and investments from retailers around the country. Walmart has added new stores and recently unveiled plans to remodel others. Costco, H-E-B and Sprouts Farmers Market also opened new spots in the region, and there’s a new warehouse chain addition with BJ’s Wholesale Club.
Target is investing about $5 billion this year toward 130-plus remodels and 30 new stores with markets that range from Los Angeles to New York City, it said in a statement on its website. The company said it’s “elevating” the experience for customers.
About a dozen stores across Texas are undergoing remodels and new plans include:
• Grocery updates: A reimagined floor plan prioritizes fresh food and its in-house brands.
• Expanded drive-up lanes and more efficient order pickup areas to cut down on wait times.
• Modernized interiors with new lighting, localized murals and updated displays.
“Ultimately, our stores are not just places to shop — they are critical infrastructure that powers speed, scale and long-term growth across the business,” the company said. “Case in point: Our remodeled stores typically see a low- to mid-single-digit sales lift, along with higher traffic and more guest engagement.”
