SAN ANTONIO – A local charter school network is helping make sure students across the area get the year started right.
From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, IDEA San Antonio hosted a free community school backpack giveaway for any students in the community at the IDEA Mays Academy and College Preparatory campus.
The first 500 school aged children at the event received backpacks fille with school supplies, and families were able to take advantage of different local vendor booths.
For families who missed the first event, additional giveaway events will be held from 12 – 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 at IDEA Eastside Academy and College Preparatory, as well as from 12 – 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 at IDEA Ewing Halsell Academy and College Preparatory .
