Several flights grounded at LAX following IT outage, airline says – NBC Los Angeles

Several planes were grounded Sunday following an IT outage affecting Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights.

The outage began around 8 p.m., impacting the airlines’ operations, according to a spokesperson for Alaska Airlines.

“We requested a temporary, system-wide ground stop for Alaska and Horizon Air flights until the issue is resolved,” wrote Alaska Airlines in a statement to NBC4.

The cause of the outage was not immediately clear.

As of 11 p.m., the ground stop was lifted and operations resumed.
