2025 Water Utilities Quality Report

By Leslie Kounlavouth, Arlington Water Utilities Communication

Arlington Water Utilities compiles testing data each spring from the previous calendar year to give residents a full picture of their water quality, where it comes from, and how it gets to their tap.

The newest edition of the city’s Consumer Confidence Report, or Water Quality Report, is now online at www.ArlingtonTX.gov/waterccr.

The annual report is required by the EPA and the water department’s state regulatory authority, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Some of the highlights of the seven-page document include:

  • Arlington Water Utilities employees work hard every day to provide tap water that meets all requirements for safety set by federal and state regulations. Like most of the tap water in Texas, Arlington’s water supply comes from what is known as surface water.
  • In 2025, the Arlington Water Utilities Laboratory took 7,423 samples and completed 17,388 analyses. The 15-member staff at the lab have a combined 149 years of laboratory experience.
  • Arlington Water Utilities produced 18,509,625,832 gallons of treated water for use by customers in 2025. The department reported a system water loss percentage of 9.46 percent.
  • The City of Arlington is preparing for new federal rules for community water providers scheduled to go into effect in 2027.
