SAN ANTONIO — A 35-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition following a hit-and-run assault in downtown San Antonio early Saturday morning, police say.
San Antonio Police Department officers responded to the intersection of East Houston Street and 3rd Street at approximately 3:16 a.m. after an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to police reports, the victim, a 35-year-old male, was crossing the roadway near 3rd Street and Bonham when an unknown vehicle abruptly reversed, striking him before the suspect fled the scene.
The driver did not stop to help, police said.
