FSU softball vs Stetson: Live updates from Saturday

Stetson got its offense going in the bottom of the third inning, scoring two runs on three hard-hit balls. Bella Dimitrijevic had allowed just one hit prior to the inning.

Stetson has scored its first run of the game, with Nicole Edmiaston hitting a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the third inning.

Florida State was unable to add to its lead in the third inning, despite Isa Torres hitting a one-out single. Jaysoni Beachum popped up before Ashtyn Danley hit into a fielder’s choice to end the inning.

FSU’s offense is scoring runs in bunches, and Bella Dimitrijevic is not letting Stetson get anything going. She retired the side in order in the second. The freshman has allowed just one base runner, throwing 27 pitches.

Florida State’s offense looks completely different the second time facing Stetson and has blown this game open. They already have 10 hits, including two home runs. They had just seven hits in Friday’s loss to Stetson.

The Seminoles are pouring it on in the top of the second inning as Ashtyn Danley hit a solo home run to go back-to-back with Jaysoni Beachum after she hit a grand slam. Stetson has made another pitching change after Ava Braswell was unable to get an out.

FSU has jumped all over Stetson, and Jaysoni Beachum blew the game open in the second inning with a grand slam after Isa Torres loaded the bases with a bunt single. FSU has seven hits already, and there is nobody out in the second.

FSU has forced Stetson to make a pitching change in the top of the second after Hayley Griggs and Makenna Sturgis both singled to start the inning, setting the table for Isa Torres. Stetson is turning to ace Ava Braswell.

The game between FSU and Stetson is set to start at 5 p.m. ET. FSU is 32-3 at home this season, and Stetson is 8-13 on the road.

The Seminoles were unable to get anything going in the top of the third inning, with all three players grounding out. It was the first inning that FSU had not gotten a baserunner.

FSU’s Jazzy Francik made quick work of Jacksonville State in the bottom of the second inning, needing just five pitches. Jaysoni Beachum and Makenna Sturgis both made good plays on line drives.

Florida State had its first big inning of the tournament, scoring four runs on five hits to take an early lead. They have crushed the ball to start the game, forcing Jacksonville State to make a pitching change.

Jacksonville State made a pitching change in the second, but Jaysoni Beachum was not fazed. She singled on the second pitch of the at-bat, driving in Isa Torres to give them a 4-0 lead.

The Seminoles are crushing the ball and are now up 3-0 at the top of the second after Isa Torres tripled off the wall, driving in two runs and forcing a pitching change. FSU has hit into five outs, four of which were well struck, with two barely staying inside the park.

Kennedy Harp gave FSU its first lead of the NCAA Tournament with a solo home run in the top of the second to go up 1-0. FSU has hit the ball well, even if they have just one hit so far against Jacksonville State.

Jacksonville State put two runners on with one out in the bottom of the first, but Isa Torres made a good play on a grounder that Jazzy Francik deflected for a big out before Francik ended the inning with a strikeout. She allowed one hit and walked one batter in the inning, throwing 17 pitches.

FSU’s struggles with runners on continued in the first inning, with Isa Torres getting stranded at second after working a leadoff walk. Jaysoni Beachum and Ashtyn Danley both hit the ball hard, but Jacksonville State’s outfielders were able to catch both line drives.

FSU is the visiting team in the game, and Isa Torres opened the game with a four-pitch walk against Jacksonville State.

Despite FSU playing at home and being the No. 1 seed in the Tallahassee Regional, the Seminoles are the designated road team in Saturday’s game against Jacksonville State. Since FSU was the home team vs. Stetson and Jacksonville State was the road team vs UCF, the Gamecocks get to be the home team.

UCF crushed Stetson 10-1 in the first game on Saturday, sending the Hatters to the losers’ bracket, where they will play the winner of FSU and Jacksonville State after that game concludes. UCF is one win away from advancing to the Super Regional round.
