A 21-year-old man is in custody after authorities say he broke an infant’s femur during a family incident.

SAN ANTONIO — A 21-year-old man was taken into custody after authorities said an infant suffered a broken femur during an incident involving a family member.

Around 10:30 p.m. on May 15, deputies received reports that an infant had sustained a broken leg bone.

After arriving at the scene, BCSO says investigators determined that a family member of the child became upset with the infant and forcibly pressed on the child’s femur, causing the bone to break.

Authorities identified the relative as Jonathan Moreno.

Officials urged anyone who feels overwhelmed or fears they may harm a child to seek help from a trusted family member, friend or local law enforcement agency before a situation escalates into serious injury or death.

This is an ongoing investigation.
