SAN ANTONIO – A possible lover’s quarrel results after three suspects in a vehicle allegedly opened fire on a West Side home, injuring an 18-year-old with shrapnel, and the suspects are still at large.
The incident occurred early Sunday around 12:45 a.m. at the 2200 block of W. Poplar Street, where police responded to a shooting scene that was the alleged result following a weeklong dispute involving a woman. The teenage victim told officers he saw a vehicle drive past his home with three unknown male suspects inside. The suspects then allegedly began shooting toward the home, striking the victim with shrapnel before taking off from the area before officers arrived.
According to SAPD, the male victim was struck by at least one bullet but suffered only a graze wound.
EMS treated the 18-year-old at the scene for minor injuries.
