LOWER MERION  — City Ave District kicked off the 2026 season of the Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market on Wednesday, May 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. at One Bala Plaza (231 St. Asaph’s Road), launching a weekly market that will run through October 7th.

The Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market serves as the primary market for City Ave District, offering residents, workers and visitors a convenient, midweek destination for fresh, locally made goods. Opening day featured eight local vendors, along with live music, giveaways and family-friendly activities.

Hosted by City Ave District, a business improvement district focused on enhancing the vitality, connectivity and quality of life along the City Avenue corridor, the market is part of a broader effort to create vibrant public spaces and bring people together in the heart of the community.

Opening day vendors include:● Autana Authentic Venezuelan Food — Authentic Venezuelan street food and specialties● Care Package Bakes — A Best of Philly-winning cottage bakery offering seasonal, small-batch baked goods including focaccia, babka, cookies, brownies, fruit tarts, and more, with vegan and gluten-free options● Jenifermented — Small-batch, barrel-fermented sauerkraut made in Montgomery County, packed with probiotics and available in a variety of flavors● Mother Nature’s Sun — Natural, wellness-focused products● Polite Plants — Greenhouse-grown houseplants, succulents, herbs, vegetable starts, and seasonal flowers● Saint Rocco’s Treats — Locally made, human-grade dog treats crafted with all-natural ingredients, with a portion of proceeds supporting local dog rescues● Ursa Bakery — Artisan breads made from 100% locally sourced grain ● Sunny Acre Farm – Vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs and cheesesAdditional vendors will rotate throughout the season, offering a mix of food, produce and specialty goods each week. The market will also feature pop-up programming, including live music, children’s activities and other seasonal experiences.
