PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona is receiving more than $100 million as part of a nearly $307 million disaster recovery package FEMA approved for six western states and territories.
The funding includes $286.6 million to reimburse costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic and $20.2 million for recovery work related to past natural disasters. The regional funding is part of FEMA’s announcement of $5.6 billion in federal assistance to states, Tribal Nations and territories.
Nearly $105 million will go to Dignity Community Care in Arizona to reimburse contract services for emergency and inpatient clinical care, response, diagnosis, containment and treatment for COVID-19 patients.
More than $5.5 million will go to the Havasupai Tribe for permanent repairs to bridges and ancestral burial grounds damaged by severe flooding throughout the Havasupai reservation.
More than $2.4 million will go to the Arizona Department of Emergency & Military Affairs for materials, rented equipment and contracts to help reduce or eliminate the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The remaining funds will support recovery efforts in Nevada, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
