Summer heat holds on as the week begins. Expect the familiar feel of summer to stick around as we head into the new workweek. Skies will generally range from partly to mostly sunny each afternoon, with the possibility of a few isolated showers or thunderstorms developing late in the day. On a brighter note, areas to the west, particularly around El Paso, can look forward to increased rain chances.

1. Beat the heat: San Antonio’s ‘Cool Neighborhoods Program’ returns for a second year
Texas heat is no joke and San Antonio is making an effort to help residents cool off this summer. The city’s “Cool Neighborhoods Program” returns for a second year in a row.
The program is looking to take action in four neighborhoods by seeking households who can help with resources like cool roofs and pavement, more shade and trees.
2. Would you hail a ‘robotaxi’? Musk bets cabs will give Tesla a lift after boycotts and sales plunge
Elon Musk promised in 2019 that driverless Tesla “robotaxis” would be on the road “next year,” but it didn’t happen. A year later, he promised to deliver them the next year, but that didn’t happen either.
Musk appears to be on the verge of making his robotaxi vision a reality with a test run of a small squad of self-driving cabs in Austin, Texas.
3. Kevin Durant is going from the Suns to the Rockets in a blockbuster trade, AP source says
The Houston Rockets are acquiring 15-time All-Star and four-time Olympic gold medalist Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster deal struck Sunday, a person with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press.
The Rockets are giving up Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and six future picks, according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.
