FITCHBURG, Mass. — A Massachusetts man is celebrating a remarkable stroke of luck after purchasing two winning Powerball tickets, each worth $1 million.

Paul Corcoran, a resident of Fitchburg in the north-central part of the state, initially bought a multi-draw ticket for the Powerball drawing on July 9.

Believing there might be an issue with the ticket, Corcoran decided to purchase a second ticket at a store about ten minutes away. To his surprise, both tickets matched five of the winning numbers, though neither matched the Powerball number.

Corcoran is now $2 million richer. He said he is still contemplating how he will spend his newfound fortune.
