La Pulga Tequila, a Fort Worth-based company known for its additive-free, premium tequilas, is now available in bars, restaurants, and retail stores across Florida.
In June, the company announced it that the brand had expanded to Colorado.
“We’re enormously excited to now bring [La Pulga] to consumers and bartenders across the country, starting with important markets like Florida where people understand and appreciate high-quality, affordable spirits,” says Alan Thompson, CEO of La Pulga Spirits, in a statement.
La Pulga Tequila is distributed in Florida through Green Light Distribution, a distribution company focused on growing small to mid-size wine and craft spirits brands.
La Pulga was founded by three local entrepreneurs — Sarah Castillo, Andrew De La Torre, and Stephen Slaughter — who sought to create an authentic, high-quality tequila that was also accessible and affordable.
Crafted in small batches in Mexico’s Jalisco Highlands from 100% Blue Weber Agave, La Pulga includes three labels — Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo — each bottled with a signature cork stopper and a keepsake medallion. The brand also offers La Pulga Mezcal and Sotol, now available in Florida as part of the expanded rollout.
The brand was inspired by Fort Worth’s traditional outdoor market known as “La Pulga.”
“This is exactly the type of innovative and forward-thinking brands we look for at Green Light,” said Chris Larue, president of Green Light Distribution Florida.
