PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for May 20, 2026:
Latino Restaurant – 1107 W Hatcher Road, Phoenix
5 violations:
- Employee handled raw food and utensils without washing hands
- Cooked beans not cooling properly
- Roasted peppers not kept hot enough
- Mozzarella cheese not kept cold enough
- Can of WD40 stored on a dough press
The Stone Korean Tofu House – 6910 E. Hampton Ave., Mesa
4 violations:
- Employee re-used plastic glove stored in raw beef
- Box of jalapenos had organic debris
- Old meat debris on deli slicer
- Pork and brisket not kept cold enough
Light Heart Coffee – 51 W. Vaughn Ave., Gilbert
4 violations:
- Employee cracked eggs and made sandwiches without washing hands
- Employee rinsed utensils without proper washing
- Raw eggs not kept cold enough
- Too much ammonia in sanitizer solution
La Pasadita Hot Dogs – 4117 N 75th Ave., Phoenix
3 violations:
- Roasted jalapenos not kept hot enough
- Flan kept a week beyond discard date
- Horchata pitcher stored in ice for fountain drinks
Fogo De Chao – 6300 N. Scottsdale Rd., Paradise Valley
3 violations:
- Bartender handled fruit garnish with bare hands
- Dish sanitizer not running hot enough
- Crème brûlée not kept cool enough
