open

the

doors

of

its

new

Broad

Street

Entrance

as

well

as

a

new

Orthopedics

Suite

next

week,

marking

another

significant

milestone

in

its

ongoing

Chenango

Medical

Neighborhood

project.

A

grand

opening

celebration

and

ribbon

cutting,

along

with

tours

of

the

new

spaces,

will

take

place

from

12:30

to

3

p.m.

on

Thursday,

May

28.

The

event

is

free

and

open

to

the

public.

“We

would

members

of

the

community

to

join

us

as

we

celebrate

our

progress,”

said

Cecil

Miller,

President

and

CEO

of

UHS

Chenango

Memorial

Hospital.

According

to

Miller,

the

work

represents

Phase

2

of

the

hospital’s

broader

modernization

initiative,

which

has

brought

many

visible

changes

to

the

Norwich

campus

over

the

last

eight

years.

“The

completion

of

these

projects

reflects

our

continued

commitment

to

strengthening

healthcare

access

and

services

for

the

communities

we

serve,”

he

said

“Cumulatively,

the

$110

million

invested

over

the

last

decade

ensure

that

patients

in

our

region

have

access

to

high-quality,

coordinated

care

in

a

modern

and

welcoming

environment,

close

to

home.”

According

to

Rich

Stone,

Vice

President

of

Support

Services

at

UHS

Chenango

Memorial,

one

of

the

milestones

being

celebrated

is

the

reimagined

front

entrance

and

parking

lot,

which

has

been

designed

with

accessibility

and

convenience

in

mind.

“The

new

lot

includes

114

parking

spaces,

with

an

increased

number

of

spaces

dedicated

to

individuals

with

limited

mobility,”

Stone

explained.

“The

improved

layout

and

proximity

to

the

entrance

will

help

create

a

smoother,

more

welcoming

experience

for

both

patients

and

visitors.”

At

the

same

time,

UHS

Orthopedics

Norwich

is

relocating

to

a

newly

renovated

suite

on

the

hospital’s

second

floor.

The

purpose-built

space

significantly

expands

the

clinic’s

footprint,

increasing

the

number

of

examination

rooms

from

nine

to

17,

along

with

the

addition

of

a

dedicated

procedure

room.

The

hospital’s

gift

shop,

operated

by

the

Chenango

Memorial

Hospital

Auxiliary,

has

also

been

renovated

and

expanded.

“This

is

an

exciting

step

forward

not

only

for

the

hospital,

but

for

the

entire

community,”

said

Joe

Stagliano,

Chair

of

the

CMH

Board

of

Directors.

“These

improvements

strengthen

our

ability

to

deliver

care

locally

while

supporting

the

long-term

health

and

vitality

of

Chenango

County.

It’s

a

reflection

of

our

commitment

to

meeting

the

needs

of

patients

today

and

into

the

future.”

The

May

28

event

will

begin

with

remarks

from

hospital

leadership,

UHS

representatives,

and

community

dignitaries,

followed

by

an

official

ribbon-cutting

ceremony.

Guests

will

then

be

invited

to

tour

the

new

spaces,

including

the

entrance,

Orthopedics

Suite,

and

gift

shop.

Light

refreshments

will

be

available

throughout

the

afternoon.
