Woman dies following hit-and-run on Jacksonville’s Northside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a woman died Monday night after she was hit by a car on Jacksonville’s Northside.

According to JSO, the incident took place between 3 and 3:30 p.m. on W Edgewood Avenue and Wainwright Circle.

Officials said there is no information regarding a suspect, but described the involved vehicle as a black four-door sedan that was last seen going east on W Edgewood Avenue heading toward I-95 South.

The woman was declared dead by medical personnel after being taken to the hospital by Jacksonville Fire Rescue.

The investigation is ongoing.
