Many have wondered about the future of mornings on WROR after the retirement of Bob Bronson last week.
Well, Beasley Media Group answered that question on Thursday.
Two longtime Boston radio personalities — Lauren Beckham Falcone (LBF) and Adam 12 — will be launching “The ROR Morning Show with LBF and Adam 12” next week.
LBF, who’s a former columnist at the Herald, has been a part of WROR mornings since 2011.
Adam 12 has worked in broadcast and digital media for 30 years. He began his radio career at alternative rock stations WFNX and WBCN. Most recently, he served as executive producer of the Toucher & Hardy Show on 98.5 The Sports Hub, and as program director of WBOS.
“We’re excited to launch the new ROR Morning Show with LBF and Adam 12,” said Beasley Media Group’s Mary Menna.
“LBF and Adam have a natural chemistry, incredible energy, and a genuine connection with listeners making mornings on WROR both entertaining and relatable,” Menna added. “We’re looking forward to bringing Boston a show that’s fun, funny, and filled with personality every morning.”
Beasley Media did not immediately name a new executive producer of the Toucher & Hardy Show.
“We are in the process of working it out,” a spokesperson wrote in an email. “The great news is that Sports Hub has a very deep talent bench!”
Bronson retired from 105.7 WROR last Friday following a lengthy broadcasting career in Boston and beyond.
He returned to Boston in 2019 as co-host of “The ROR Morning Show with Bob Bronson and LBF.”
“I’m beyond excited to officially kick off this next chapter with Adam 12,” Falcone said. “Boston mornings on WROR have been my home for so many years and getting the chance to wake up this city alongside someone as talented, funny, and creative as Adam is truly special.”
The new weekday morning show will bring listeners a “fun, upbeat, and entertaining start to the day filled with laughter, conversation, music, and engaging features,” according to Beasley Media.
One of the show’s features will be “Supah Smaht in 60 Seconds.” Weekdays at 8:05 a.m., listeners will have the chance to test their knowledge and win $1,000 with WROR’s fast-paced trivia challenge.
Also, “DM Disasters” will air weekdays at 6:40 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. This segment will highlight outrageous, awkward, and unforgettable real-life stories.
“Adam brings a tremendous amount of creativity, experience, and passion for great radio to WROR,” said station Program Director Scott Morello. “Pairing him with LBF creates a morning show that’s energetic, funny, and incredibly engaging. We’re excited to build something special for Boston listeners.”
“I’m incredibly excited to join LBF and wake up Boston every morning on WROR,” Adam 12 said. “For the last seven years, I’ve had the fortune of working with some of the best in the business at Beasley Media Group, taking on new challenges and growing both as a talent and programmer. Working with LBF for a new morning show on WROR is a dream come true. I’m grateful to Mary Menna and Scott Morello for the opportunity to entertain Boston listeners on WROR. I know we’re going to have an absolute blast!”
The show debuts Monday on 105.7 WROR.
