Suspect on the loose after shooting homeless man at South Side encampment

SAN ANTONIO – A man is wanted for allegedly shooting a homeless man at a South Side encampment.

It happened around 10 p.m. Monday behind an apartment complex on West Amber Street near Pleasanton Road on the South Side.

Police said the homeless man was confronted by the suspect, who shot him in the leg before running off.

The homeless man was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

The investigation is ongoing.
