Re “Audit: City’s flooding response flawed” (July 16): Unlike the county, the city’s maintenance of storm drain infrastructure is almost nonexistent. Sediment and debris routinely pile up. Trees, native plants and non-native plants grow where water should flow over concrete. It’s so bad that permits had to be obtained to remove endangered plant species before cleaning out culverts. I hope the city improves maintenance of its stormwater system.
