ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Jacksonville man is facing multiple charges after warrants say he attempted to assault several individuals.
According to warrants, 42-year-old Erasto Santana was arrested Friday after warrants say he was speeding on Highway NC 53. Warrants go on to say he attempted assault on three individuals with a motor vehicle, one being an officer.
Court documents show Santana has an extensive record of DWIs, speeding, and driving without a license. Court documents say Jacksonville Police, Onslow County Sheriff’s Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol were involved in a chase with Santana.
According to court documents, Santana was arrested for several charges through the Jacksonville Police Department and the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department:
- 2 counts of communicating threats
- 3 counts of assault with a deadly weapon
- One count of misuse of the 911 system
- One count of fail to heed light or siren
- One count of hit and run leaving scene with property damage
- One count of fail maintain lane control
- One count of improper use of traffic lane
- One count of fail to stop at steady red light
- One count of mobile phone violation with motor vehicle
Warrants say Santana was released from the Onslow County Jail on Saturday under secured bonds totaling to $95,000.
Santana’s first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
