COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) released an orphaned bobcat earlier this week.
According to CPW, the bobcat was found last year on a ranch.
The landowner observed the bobkitten for a few days, but CPW says, the landowner never observed a mother in the area.

The kitten was taken in by a rehab facility in northern Colorado, who then contacted CPW rehab facility manager Michael Sirochman.
CPW says bobcats are more successful in going from rehab back to the wild when paired up.
At the time, CPW’s Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center had one other orphaned kitten from Montrose.
CPW says it made sense to pair it up with this newly orphaned kitten.
Together, they learned how to socialize and eventually learned to hunt their own prey.
The Montrose bobcat was released earlier this month, and the other was released on Wednesday, May 27.

CPW also thanked the landowner who originally acted to save this animal only after it was clear there was no mom in the area.
They also thanked their private rehab partner who first took in the orphaned bobcat and coordinated with CPW to give it the best possible chance to return to the wild.
