Police are investigating after a 27-year-old woman was pulled from Lake Michigan near Navy Pier in Chicago.

ABC 7 in Chicago reported that Chicago resident Zahrie Walls was found in the 600-block of East Grand Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on June 21.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The fatal incident is one of several that have occurred at Chicago’s many Lake Michigan beaches this year.

Boat Safe Chicago, a group that works to prevent accidents on the water through safety training, is reminding residents to be careful.
